Surely the reason Brands are choosing to create iPhone Apps is because the people that buy them are their perfect target audience. The iPhone may have an overall small penetration, but amongst certain target audiences it probably has a very high penetration. The iPhone may be a niche market, but there are plenty of niche and lucrative markets.
