Certainly for those customers acknowledging that they need to save or economise, their willingness to listen to marketing messages which offer ways to achieve this will increase.
Mobile has some opportunities here, as its place in the marketing mix is less crowded than channels such as email.
However, mobile marketing should not be seen as having value solely for its novelty - a relevant, timely message that offers appropriate customer benefits will succeed however it is distributed.
